The 11th Doctor

So, this is my first drawing of anyone in Doctor Who. Why did I do it? Well, I got inspired by a friend of mine, you know her here as Vrenith. You, Vrenith, inspired me to pick up my pencil and do a drawing of this doctor. You did a fantastic piece of Mr. Smith, and I couldn't let the urge to draw him get away, so I found a picture I wanted ("needed") to do.

I may go back and touch up the shading, but for now this is it.

If you'd like to purchase a print of this drawing, you can do so here.

THIS. IS SO AMAZING. O_O I love this so much. :D You did an awesome job; beautiful detail.

I'm going to come back and look at this every couple of minutes. ;)

(...possibly more Doctor Who drawings in the future...?) ;)

And he has eyebrows. :3 People kept asking me why I added eyebrows in my drawing because 'he doesn't have eyebrows.' But he does; I spent three days drawing only what I saw in the picture. XP

Aww thanks Vren!! Haha, version 1 wasn't that great... it needed a lot of work. You're so sweet!! Yes, there is a possibility of me doing more Doctor Who pictures... people seem to really like them. I already have a buyer for this piece :)

HE DOES HAVE EYEBROWS. I have no idea why people say that he doesn't. He clearly does! Haha, isn't that frustrating?! How you can spend days on something then people go "whaaaaat?!" and you're like "ARRGGG". Now I can only imagine how movie directors feel...

Your Matt Smith drawing is amazing btw ;)

Ooo, nice! The shading is great! Especially his cheek bones. Wow, Buyers that quick huh? I really want to start getting into selling my drawings...

It's awesome that you already have a buyer. :D So it is okay to sell drawings of actors and things like that? I've been wanting to try to sell prints, but just haven't had the time to really look into it. :/

It is frustrating. XP Funny, sometimes, but frustrating most of the time. Just because he doesn't have distinct eyebrows doesn't mean they're not there.

Thank you. :) The two things I thought would be the hardest and take the longest was the nose and the hair. The nose was easy, and the hair took the least time of anything in the whole drawing. O.o

@ Regollin - Why thank you! I'm a sucker for those with razor-sharp cheekbones :P
Yup! The woman I'm selling it to is buying it for her boyfriend, who is a massive doctor who fan (I also work with her, so that makes it easy to sell). Definitely get into it! Even if you'd like to sell prints first (Fine Art America is a fantastic site to use). But don't worry, it takes time to sell stuff, as I've found out.

@ Vrenith - Thanks! I know her boyfriend will love it, and that is what I love most about my work. When people connect with it, and love it so much that they "have to have it". I think so. It's my rendition of someone, so it's my take and my creation. I just used a photo for refrence. I've also just followed what other artists are doing.
If you'd like to sell prints, try Fine Art America (I have my stuff up there), and it's a really fantastic site to sell prints!

Exactly. Just because you can't see his teeth/bones, doesn't mean they aren't there.
It can be the things that you think'll be the easiest that end up being the hardest, and vice versa.

I'll definitely look up Fine Art America. :) I know that the picture I used isn't even officially in Doctor Who, and I didn't include surroundings. It was a sort of promotional picture, the background all weird. Thank you for the advice. :3

Do! It's a fantastic site! :)

It's hard to tell where the line is, so I'd say, don't worry about it. You're not trying to steal the picture, so I know you're heart is in the right place :)

You're welcome!!
