Iron Man - Black Led Avenger

Named "Black Led Avenger" by a friend of mine (you know who you are, thank you)

My second Iron Man drawing that I've done so far, but this one took a loooooooot more time than the last one. The last drawing took me around 11 hours, which was one of the more lengthy drawings I'd done. Until now.
This drawing has taken me 3 days, working on the drawing for hours each day. Just to get that metal look. And as much as I said in my last post that I did "painstaking measures" to achieve that metal look...well this drawing I did that. only the painstaking measures were on steroids. Not only did I use the original 8B pencil for the dark parts, the 6B pencil for the medium parts, I was also using a mechanical pencil (yes, those are really handy tools! And I DO use them). The B pencils were used for the initial shade that was put down onto paper, then I used the mechanical pencil to go back and fill in those little white spots. Only this time, I did it more thoroughly than the last drawing.
And I also used darker contrasts with the graphite. In the other drawing, I didn't use that much of my 8B pencil, just keeping it to a 6 or 7B.

The reason I put more time into the drawing, other than the fact that I'm paying attention to little details, I'm entering this into a contest, and hopefully I'll win something with it!

Tom Hiddleston as Loki

Finished (version #4)

First version.

I know that most of you who've seen Thor know Loki.
Loki has been one of the recent marvel movie characters that I've seen other artists draw. Some of the drawings have been good, some really good, and lots of amateur ones.
So I decided to add Loki to my many a characters to draw. Well, here he is. I'm not liking the drawing in the least bit. I don't know why I don't like it, but I just don't. It just isn't Loki.
He went through at least 3 changes before I settled on what you see now.
Anyhoo, I finally did him. I'll be doing another one of him, as soon as I find the right picture to do... but I will do another one, be sure of that!

Quorra Upgraded - She's an ISO

Quorra upgraded.

So, some of you may have seen the post I did when I did the drawing of Quorra back in February of 2011. In it, I posted the drawing I did of Quorra that I did after seeing TRON: Legacy. And while I liked the drawing, I did it while I was filming it to create a speed drawing, so the shading was rough, the lines were jagged at best, and the shading was quite light.

So, one evening, I was bored, and I didn't want to draw something new. Now, I know I'm always the person who says "never go back to a drawing, and touch it up, or change stuff with it. Leave it, so that when you look back, you'll see how much you've improved." What do I do? I go and touch up this pixie ISO.
And I'm glad I did. Considering I did the drawing only a year and a half ago, my style hasn't changed all that much, just that my shading has improved enough for me to go and fill in the spots that I missed when I was doing the original drawing.

Because I wanted to put this up on FAA, I needed to change/upgrade the detail and shading. This is Quorra Upgraded.

Bull Elk

This elk I did randomly as I was sitting at my computer, utterly board. So I pulled out a photo of an elk, and sketched away. This is the end result, an elk bugling.

Champagne the Cat

This is my dads' cousins' cat.
My dad's cousin, asked me to draw their adorable cat for his wife's birthday. Since I did this drawing back in September (13th to be exact), I decided to wait until after her birthday to post it, just so she wouldn't see it before she's supposed to :)

You'd never know it, but this cat is 17 years old. In cat years that's ancient, but she still looks like a little kitten!

"Precious as Pearls" is the name of this drawing.
